موجودات زنده در شرایط مختلف محیطی ژن­ های متفاوتی را بیان می­ کنند که در نتیجه آن پروتئین­ های متفاوتی سنتز می شوند. این تغییرات به دلیل آداپته شدن ارگانیسم با شرایط محیطی از قبیل حضور مواد سمی است. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی تغییرات پروتئینی ایجاد شده در باکتریSBU1  Celeribacter persicus جداسازی شده از جنگل ­های مانگرو خلیج نایبند در محیط حاوی فنانترن به عنوان تنها منبع کربن و انرژی انجام گرفت. برای مطالعه تغییرات ایجاد شده در محتوای پروتئینی سویه SBU1 C. persicus، باکتری در محیط­ های کشت پایه معدنی حاوی استات سدیم به عنوان شاهد و هم­چنین حاوی فنانترن کشت داده شد. پس از استخراج پروتئین کل، ارزیابی تغییرات ایجاد شده در محتوای پروتئینی باکتریSBU1  C. persicus، با استفاده از الکتروفورز عمودی پروتئین­ ها جداسازی و شناسایی آنها توسط روش MALDI-TOF-TOF MS انجام شد. پس از ارزیابی تغییرات پروتئینی ایجاد شده در محتوای پروتئینی سویهSBU1 ، دو باند که نسبت به تیمار شاهد تغییرات بیشتری را نشان دادند (افزایش میزان بیان پروتئین) جداسازی و پروتئین­ های آنها شناسایی گردید. پروتئین­ های شناسایی شده شامل یک پروتئین کانالی و همچنین پروتئینی با عملکرد ناشناخته بود. به طور کلی نتایج این مطالعه بیانگر ایجاد تغییرات قابل توجهی در موای پروتئینی باکتری SBU1 C. persicus پس از مصرف فنانترن بود. افزایش میزان بیان پروتئین کانالی شناسایی شده، احتمالاً نشان دهده نقش این پروتئین در انتقال مولکول­های فنانترن به داخل و یا خارج از سلول است.
