گیاه دارویی خرفه (Portulaca oleracea L.) حاوی مواد موثره ارزشمندی نظیر دوپامین، نورآدرینالین و امگا-3 است. این گیاه در صنایع مختلف دارویی، غذایی و بهداشتی و در درمان بیماری­های مختلفی نظیر دیابت، ناراحتی­های قلبی، تسکین درد­ها کاربرد دارد. کالو س­های تهیه شده از گیاهان دارویی مختلف را می­توان به منظور افزایش مواد موثره در کشت سوسپانسیون سلولی و انتقال ژن مورد استفاده قرار داد. هدف از انجام این آزمایش بررسی اثر متقابل غلظت­های مختلف دو هورمون BAP (0، 1 و 2 میلی­گرم بر لیتر) و 2,4-D (0، 5/0 و 5/1 میلی­گرم بر لیتر) بر دو ریزنمونه برگی و مریستم انتهایی برای تولید کالوس بود. نتایج حاصل از تجزیه واریانس داده ­ها نشان داد که اثرمتقابل هورمون­ها و نوع ریزنمونه بر صفاتی مانند درصد القا کالوس، وزن تر و قطر کالوس در سطح احتمال 1 درصد معنی ­دار است. بهترین کالوس­ دهی در ریزنمونه برگ با درصد القا کالوس 100 درصد، وزن تر 121 میلی­ گرم و قطر کالوس 5/106 میلی­متر در ترکیب هورمونی 2 میلی­ گرم بر لیتر BAP و 0/5 میلی­ گرم بر لیتر 2,4-D به دست آمد. ریزنمونه مریستم با 75 درصد کالوس، 106 میلی­گرم وزن تر و 3/03 میلی­ متر قطر کالوس در ترکیب هورمونی 1 میلی­ گرم بر لیتر BAP و 0/5 میلی­ گرم بر لیتر 2,4-D در رده بعدی قرار گرفت.
